Hearts Under Siege: A Poetic Diary of Survival is an intimate journey through pain, memory, loss, love and hope.
Born from Suleiman Al-Farra’s personal experience, the book brings together poems that seek to transform into words what war so often tries to silence.
Each page brings the reader closer to a lived reality, but also to universal feelings: the desire for safety, the importance of family, the longing for home and the need to keep dreaming.
More than a testimony of war, this work is an invitation to recognise the human being beyond the news, the images and the numbers.
Because behind every story of suffering, there is a person with a past, a voice and a future that deserves to be lived.
Hearts Under Siege was born in Gaza, but its message belongs to everyone who believes that no life should lose its dignity, its memories or its right to dream.

About the Author
Suleiman Al-Farra is a Palestinian writer and photographer from Gaza.
Before the war, photography was part of the way he saw the world: he sought to capture faces, moments and stories that deserved to be preserved. Today, he continues to live in Gaza, in a reality marked by displacement, loss and uncertainty.
It was amid this reality that writing became a way to preserve memories, give voice to feelings and find words for what so often seems impossible to explain.
But Suleiman does not write only about war. He also writes about love, family, longing, dreams and the life that continues to exist beyond the destruction.
Through poetry, he invites us to discover not only the suffering of those who live in Gaza, but above all their humanity, identity and dreams, and their determination to carry on.
